About:

Dewashis’s interest in art can be traced as early as junior school. Before a stint at the Rabindra Bharati University in Kolkata. Dewashis worked with the eminent artist Shri Sukumay Mitra, a graduate from Shantiniketan and student of Nandalal Bose. India’s rich tribal culture and heritage are the recurring theme of Dewashis’s paintings. This stems from his desire to capture this for posterity and the sheer pleasure he derives from painting tribals.
